US President Donald Trump nominated Christopher Ray for the post of director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for 10 years instead of James Komi.
On Monday, the White House published a list of US administration nominations for the Senate, including Christopher Ray's nomination for the post of director of the FBI.
Trump dismissed former office director James Kome on May 9, citing his dissatisfaction with the work of this security official.
Ray considered his nomination by the US president an honor, saying that the United States faces serious threats both within its territory and abroad. He added that the FBI continues its work in cooperation with other state institutions to counter these threats.
Christopher Ray, 50, is a US legal and political politician who served as US Assistant Attorney General for the period 2003-2005.
