Iraq signs a memorandum with Britain to develop measures to combat money laundering and terrorist financing

Iraq's Central Bank announced on Tuesday that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Britain to develop measures to combat money laundering and terrorism financing.
"Central Bank Governor Ali Al-Alaq signed with the British ambassador to Iraq, Frank Baker, a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing and supporting anti-money laundering measures and financing of terrorism," the Central Bank said in a statement received by Mawazine News.
"The agreement signed today includes a grant from the British side of the Central Bank of Iraq, which in turn will be dedicated to supporting efforts in combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism through the organization of courses and workshops to develop capacities in cooperation with specialized international institutions."
