    The House of Representatives voted in its eleventh ordinary session on the law on the residence of foreigners and ended the reading of three draft laws, as well as the completion of reading the report and discussion of the proposed law amendment of the law of the Independent High Electoral Commission.
    A statement by the Information Department of the parliament that «the meeting held under the chairmanship of Salim al-Jubouri President of the Council and the presence of 200 deputies on Saturday, saw the arrival of representatives of the province of Kirkuk and the heads of parliamentary blocs, during meetings held over two days, an agreement on some paragraphs on the law of provincial elections and districts, .
    He said Jubouri, according to the statement, the completion of meetings to resolve the remaining points of disagreement to resolve the law, pointing to a meeting on Sunday, including heads of parliamentary blocs and deputies of the province of Kirkuk in order to include the draft law on the agenda of the meeting on Monday.
    The Presidency postponed the vote on the draft amendment of the third law of the provinces that are not organized in the region No. (21) for the year 2008, while the Council voted on the draft law on the establishment of foreigners and submitted by the security, defense and legal committees of the many amendments under the law on the establishment of foreigners No. 118 of 1978 and the emergence of cases Which requires a review of its provisions and in accordance with the objective conditions of the Republic of Iraq and to encourage investment and facilitate access to the entry visa for foreigners and the organization of  
    their residence.
    In another matter, MP Haider al-Fawadi pointed out that demonstrations in the area of ​​flame and Ghazaliya and freedom and Sabiyat because of the power crisis, noting that the demonstrators will give the government a week to provide electricity before the popular sit-ins in the areas. The Presidency decided to defer consideration of the appeals submitted regarding the validity of the membership of some of the deputies.
    The statement said that the council "has read the report and discussed the draft law on the ratification of the Convention on the encouragement and mutual protection of investments between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
    Then the Council completed reading the report and discussion of the proposed law amendment of the law of the Independent High Electoral Commission No. (11) for the year 2007 submitted by the Legal Committee.
    The Council also read a report and discussion of the proposed amendment to the Law of Ownership No. 25 of 1960, submitted by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee.
    It was then decided to adjourn the meeting until Monday. Then the Council completed reading the report and discussion of the proposed law amendment of the law of the Independent High Electoral Commission No. (11) for the year 2007 submitted by the Legal Committee. The Council also read a report and discussion of the proposed amendment to the Law of Ownership No. 25 of 1960, submitted by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee. It was then decided to adjourn the meeting until Monday.
