Mexico expels North Korean ambassador
The Mexican Foreign Ministry said on Friday that North Korea's ambassador was an undesirable person in the country and asked him to leave the country within 72 hours.
"Mexico declares that North Korean Ambassador Kim Hyun-kee is an undesirable person in the country and has asked him to leave within 72 hours," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The move "expresses the absolute rejection of North Korea's recent nuclear tests, which violate the rules of international law and pose a threat to the Asian region and the world as a whole," the statement said.
On August 29, North Korea fired a ballistic missile over Japanese territory and landed 1,880 kilometers from the Arimo head of Hokkaido.
North Korea announced on September 3 a successful test of a hydrogen bomb designed to supply intercontinental ballistic missiles, the sixth test of North Korea's nuclear program.
South Korean Defense Minister Song Yong Moo revealed on Monday that North Korea had successfully reduced a nuclear warhead to a ballistic missile.
The UN Security Council held an emergency session last Tuesday, which issued a statement condemning Pyongyang's actions, demanding that it stop testing.
