Bahaa al-Araji returns to the front again after two years of absence

     Baghdad / Range

After a two-year absence from the media, Bahaa al-Araji, the leader of the Sadrist movement and the deputy prime minister for energy affairs, re-emerged through a number of interviews and political meetings.
This coincided with the abandonment of the leader of the Sadrist movement on the political wing of the political body of the Liberal bloc, which was taken against the background of the involvement of former MP Jawad al-Shuhili smuggled a senior official in the Ministry of Agriculture from a government prison in Baghdad.
He was removed from office as part of a package of reforms launched by the Prime Minister in the summer of 2015. The leader of the Sadrist charges of corruption and wealth magnification, which led the leader of the Sadrist movement to arrest him inside his residence in the city of Najaf, and called for evidence of corruption charges against him.
After a period of "partisan arrest", there were reports that Araji was leaving the country.
Al-Araji launched his return to the spotlight by criticizing the Social Security Act, which was approved by the government as an alternative to pension laws and social welfare.
Araji warned of brain drain if the law was passed, stressing that the latter law does not respect the standards of justice among the social groups.
In a television interview, the deputy prime minister said he was still in constant contact with Sadr and was associated with him in areas of work he described as "non-political." He said that "these meetings angered some of his close associates, they published very old documents of the Integrity Commission, has been resolved."
Al-Araji opened an unprecedented fire on some prominent leaders of the Sadr movement without naming it, accusing it of "distorting his image before the leader of the Sadrist movement," and described them as "brothers of Joseph."
On his arrest at al-Sadr's residence in Najaf, al-Araji said that the anti-corruption committee of the Sadrist movement, which investigated him on charges and complaints against him, "was supposed to issue a statement clarifying the safety of my position of these allegations after confirming that there is no such file "He said.
In February 2016, Sadr asked the political bloc of the Liberal bloc to include the ministers of industry and water resources, as well as Deputy Prime Minister Bahaa al-Araji by a law ("Where do you get this from?"). Al-Sadr also requested that the two ministers, in addition to Al-Araji, be presented to the bodies of integrity, accountability and justice for the purpose of appearing before the courts to state their position on the charges against them.
Araji said during the television interview that he had no interest in the actions taken by Sadr against him, although the latter had told him that he was in his favor, but stressed that he was still obedient to Sadr.
On the same level, he visited on Monday, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Hammam Hamoudi congratulated on his election as President of the Supreme Council, and discussed with him political developments.
"During the meeting, we discussed the latest developments in the field and the political situation in the country, in light of the breaking of foreign terrorist gangs inside and on the one hand, and the regional developments surrounding Iraq on the other," Araji said in a statement.
The leadership of the Sadrist "Congratulations on the naming of a new leadership of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq and the election of Sheikh Hamam Hamoudi as its president." During his meeting with Hamoudi, Al-Araji stressed the need to activate the role of political components in order to contribute to the maintenance of political stability in the country and the need to create an integrated relationship between the legislative and executive authorities to legislate important laws.
