Washington is imposing sanctions on "supporting" Iran, including an Iraqi airline
The United States on Thursday announced new sanctions on 11 entities and individuals for "supporting" Iranian activities.
A statement issued by the US Treasury said that the ministry, together with the foreign ministry, included "11 entities and individuals involved in supporting active Iranian actors or malicious electronic activities."
"Treasury will continue to take strong measures to counter Iran's provocations," Treasury Secretary Steve Menuchin was quoted as saying.
He added that the provocations included the support of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the Quds Force (the Revolutionary Guard), the extremist terrorists, the ongoing campaign of violence in Syria, and electronic attacks aimed at destabilizing the American financial system. The minister pointed out that the new sanctions "target an Iranian company providing financial support for the ballistic missile program of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and airlines to support the transfer of fighters and weapons to Syria, and hackers carry out electronic attacks against American financial institutions."
The sanctions also affected Iran's Sadid Karan Saba Engineering Company, which said it was involved in activities to deploy Iran's ballistic missile program and provide material, financial and technological support to the Revolutionary Guards.

The sanctions also included three Iranian nationals, the statement said, they worked for the technical company.
The sanctions also included Iran's private security company, Al-Mursad, which is linked to the Revolutionary Guard, and four of its employees.
According to US law, property and funds belonging to sanctioned entities located within US territory or within the jurisdiction of the United States are frozen.
All persons living in those territories and areas are prohibited from dealing with or providing support to those subject to sanctions.
