BAGHDAD, October 4 (Xinhua) - Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi reiterated on Wednesday the cancellation of the results of the referendum in Kurdistan region as a condition for dialogue with the region, while the provincial government announced its refusal to cancel the results to enter into dialogue with the federal government.

"Our position is consistent with the rejection of the referendum in terms of decision and results, and there is no alternative to returning except to the constitution and canceling the results of the referendum," Abbadi told a news conference on Tuesday evening.

"But we insisted on canceling the referendum and any negotiations that have to be based on the basis and reference, which is the constitution," Abadi said, adding that "the constitution remains the ruler in resolving the crisis, but that he remains committed to the referendum and accepts this initiative. That is not true and must be preceded by the cancellation of the results of the referendum. "

For its part, announced the Kurdistan Regional Government, refused to cancel the results of the referendum as a condition to enter into dialogue with the federal government.

"The cancellation of the results of the referendum is not easy, as the officials in Baghdad believe," the spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) said in a statement on Tuesday. "This issue is related to the people of Kurdistan and has decided what it wants in this regard."

He stressed that "the Iraqi constitution does not prevent the holding of the referendum," stressing that "the Peshmerga forces did not come from outside Iraq.

He added that "we have always stressed the need to start a dialogue and serious negotiations between Erbil and Baghdad to solve all problems."

The spokesman for the Office of the Prime Minister Saadi al-Hadithi had demanded yesterday that the Kurdistan region to abide by the Constitution and cancel the results of the referendum for independence from Iraq, which was conducted on the 25th of last month and the withdrawal of Peshmerga forces from the disputed areas of the Kurdistan region as conditions for dialogue between Baghdad and Erbil. Finished
