[rtl]Australia plans to increase its LNG exports by 16 percent in 2018, with new projects worth $ 180 billion to start approaching Qatar, the world's largest exporter of liquefied natural gas.[/rtl]
[rtl]Australia's exports of LNG are expected to rise to 74 million tonnes in the fiscal year ending in June 2019, from 63.8 million tonnes expected this year and 52 million tonnes last year.[/rtl]
[rtl]In comparison, Qatar's exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) reached a total of 77.4 million tons. Australian gas exports will be boosted by production from Chevron's Gorgon project.[/rtl]
[rtl]In addition, the launch of three LNG projects will add 21 million tonnes to Australia's LNG exports, bringing the total to 88 million tons.[/rtl]
[rtl]Australia, according to a monthly report by the Australian Ministry of Industry, is counting on markets such as Japan, South Korea and China to absorb additional quantities.[/rtl]
