A source familiar with the pipeline said that the main Dolphin, which carries gas from Qatar to the UAE has seen a disruption for several days last month and Qatar blocked the gap with additional liquefied gas supplies.
Qatar is facing a political and diplomatic boycott by its neighbors, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which accuse Doha of supporting extremism. Doha denies the allegation.
Qatar, the world's largest producer of liquefied natural gas, said when the ban was imposed in June 2017 it would not close the pipeline, which would have led to major disruptions to the UAE gas network.
Dolphin pumps 2 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day from Qatar's North Field to customers in the UAE. The project is owned by Dolphin Energy Limited, which is owned by Mubadala of the United Arab Emirates with 51 percent, Total 24.5 percent and Occidental 24.5 percent.
The source told Reuters that the pipeline had seen a great thirst in the Qatari territory in mid-April, which led to the closure of all facilities for several days.
The closure has caused a significant reduction in gas supplies destined for the UAE, and the giant national energy company Qatar Petroleum has helped Dolphin by shipping materials for repairs. The company also offset the shortage of gas supplies by shipping liquefied natural gas to the UAE.
Qatar Petroleum, Qatar's government and Dolphin Energy have not responded to Reuters requests for comment.
