    Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari stressed that Iraq is trying to use its regional and international relations to achieve security and stability in the region, stressing that Baghdad adopts a policy of activating interests and rejects the siege of countries and entering into the Axis alliance. Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari arrived in the Qatari capital Doha on Tuesday during an official visit as part of Iraq's efforts to expand its foreign relations.
    During his visit to Doha, Jaafari met with the emir of Qatar and a number of other officials. During the meetings, he discussed the latest political developments at the regional and international levels and the opportunities for enhancing joint cooperation in a number of areas. 
    During a meeting with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim al-Thani, he stressed that "Iraq has gone beyond the war against terrorist gangs and will start a war against the devastation caused by terrorism and rebuild Iraqi cities." 
    "Iraq does not enter into a policy of axes and adopts a policy of activating common interests, facing common dangers and enhancing cooperation with all countries of the world," he said.
    He also praised the "role played by Iraq in its efforts to promote dialogue and overcome the challenges facing the Arab region." 
    Sheikh Tamim al-Thani stressed that "Doha believes in the importance of bilateral relations with Iraq and contribute to the reconstruction of the infrastructure of Iraqi cities during the coming period." He also expressed his country's efforts to exchange visits between the two countries' officials and to enhance economic and investment cooperation. 
    Jaafari also met Qatari Prime Minister Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani.
    Jaafari stressed that "Iraq is looking forward to establishing the best relations with Arab countries and neighboring countries, and continued support of sisterly and friendly countries in the reconstruction of Iraqi cities," directed the invitation to "the Prime Minister of Qatar Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani to visit Baghdad under the opening of more From the prospects of joint cooperation. " For his part, al-Thani pointed out that "the stability of Iraq is the stability of the entire region, and we must cooperate and coordinate in all areas, especially security and intelligence, to eliminate terrorism and prevent its spread." He called for "strengthening economic, trade and investment relations between Doha and Baghdad, And the importance of accelerating the holding of the joint Qatari-Iraqi committee meeting and enhancing joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields. "
    On Wednesday, a day after his arrival in Doha, Jaafari met with his Qatari counterpart Mohammed Abdul Rahman. The two sides held a joint press conference. 
    The Qatari foreign minister said during a joint conference that Doha had earlier decided to open an embassy in Iraq and appoint an ambassador, but the decision was delayed due to some circumstances that accompanied the decision. Stressing that the decision will soon be implemented.
