    Said the head of the investment committee in the Anbar Provincial Council, Arkan Khalaf, that the project Akkaz gas field is still pending until the issuance of orders and guidance from the Iraqi Oil Ministry.
    "The Akkaz gas field was referred for investment by the Iraqi Ministry of Oil before 2014 and during the events of Wahhabism, the project was stopped for security reasons and the current phase requires the approval of the Ministry of Oil to re-operate the field of crutches," Tarmuz said during a press statement.
    He added that "the Korean company Kokaz is assigned to the investment project field Akkaz during the past years and the decision of the Ministry of Oil in the re-assignment of the project to the company in the event of non-withdrawal from the project."
    He pointed out that "the project of exploration and the location of oil and gas fields in Anbar will be directly under the central supervision of the Government of Baghdad during the coming period to ensure the provision of energy sources and financial financing for Iraq and Anbar to rehabilitate services and projects."
