The crisis between Baghdad and Erbil is of great American interest, as Washington seeks to play a role in resolving this crisis in order to preserve its interests on both sides (Baghdad and Erbil).

In this context, the US national security adviser General "Herbert McMaster" that the solution of the problems between Baghdad and Erbil is a priority of the administration of President "Donald Trump."

"Addressing the problems between the Kurdistan region and Baghdad is a priority of the administration of President Donald Trump, the State Department and the US Security Council," McMaster said in a press statement. "The country provided protection to Kurds in 1991 and Washington helped the Kurds after the invasion of Iraq in 2003."

McMaster added that "Washington wants a strong Iraq that can overcome all obstacles and problems and restore relations between the region and Baghdad."
