Only five coalitions have submitted their papers to the Commission since registration has been opene

The Electoral Commission granted licenses for the establishment of 204 parties, but some of these permits were conditional until the completion of the audit files by the accountability and justice. For his part, Saadi al-Abdali, director of the Department of Political Parties and Organizations in the Commission, said that "the number of applications for registration of alliances that have reached his constituency does not exceed ten," stressing that "the Commission did not ratify any of these alliances because it did not complete all the requirements of registration." Abdali explained that "the process of registration of alliances need to fill forms by the heads of parties in the coalition with the submission of a document containing the objectives of this alliance as well as fees," adding that "the process of registration of alliances is much easier than the registration of political parties."

The Electoral Commission began registering Iraqis abroad after setting up a new registration mechanism through the use of the Internet and access to the site of the Electoral Commission. 
"The Iraqi voter abroad can register his data through the electronic form and send it to the Commission, which will check the data sent by the voter and match it with the data of the voter register and passport data in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior." 
"The commission will check the information and the voter's voter. A form will be sent to the voter via e-mail, and he will be informed that he is an Iraqi voter and will be allowed to vote in the House of Representatives elections in 2018," Badran said in a statement.
Badran adds that "the work of this procedure will begin from 2/1/2018 until 2/3/2018 for 90 days," calling on all Iraqis to elect voters to "register on the official website of the Commission with the invitation of political parties authorized to educate their voters for the purpose of registration according to the mechanism Adopted by UNHCR ". 
In the meantime, the Electoral Commission sent a formal letter to the House of Representatives asking him to ratify the date of the parliamentary elections set by the Council of Ministers on 12/5/2018 in accordance with the law of the election of the Council of Representatives No. 45 of 2013 amended and effective, which provides for the approval of the House of Representatives on the date and issue Presidential decree by the President of the Republic on the date set for the day of the elections.
