China has tried nearly 160,000 officials on corruption charges

The Communist Party of China's anti-corruption agency revealed that 159,100 officials were punished in 2017 for violating the party's party behavior and corruption rule.
"The defendants were involved in 122,100 cases, including 48,700 related to the work of poverty reduction," the Russian news agency Sputnik reported in a news release.
"According to the Party's Discipline Inspection Commission, 61,000 officials were punished for violating the eight-point economy and saving rule between January and November 2017 in 43,400 cases, while 980 million yen (about 151 million US dollars) Of the money illegally obtained. "
