The Conference of Islamic Parliaments begins in Tehran with the participation of 44 countries

"This meeting is attended by 16 parliamentarians, 14 vice-presidents and a number of heads of parliamentary friendship groups of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)," said a member of the Union of Islamic Parliaments, Abdulraza Azizi. "The Islamic countries welcomed the establishment of this conference, where Tehran hosts a large number of parliamentary delegations to participate in the conference," he said, adding that "a number of parliamentary delegations arrived last week in Tehran and the rest of the heads of Islamic parliaments will arrive these days." "The meeting of the Islamic Parliaments Conference will be held every year in one of the Islamic countries to address the various important issues of the Islamic countries, especially the Palestinian issue," he said. "The meeting will continue for five days and will be held Sunday at the level of the affiliated committees, including the Standing Committee for Palestine and the consultative meeting between the secretaries-general of the Islamic parliaments and a consultative meeting of the Group of Arab States and the Committee on Political Affairs and Foreign Relations," he said.
