    The thirteenth session of the parliaments of the OIC member countries kicked off on Saturday with the participation of representatives from 44 countries including Iraq.
    "There are 16 parliamentarians, 14 vice-presidents and a number of heads of parliamentary friendship groups of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)," IRNA quoted member of the Union of Islamic Parliaments Abdul Rida Azizi as saying.
    "A number of parliamentary delegations arrived last Wednesday in Tehran and the rest of the heads of Islamic parliaments will arrive tonight," Azizi said. "Islamic countries welcomed the establishment of this conference, where Tehran hosts a large number of parliamentary delegations to participate in the conference."
    "The meeting of the Islamic Parliaments Conference will be held every year in one of the Islamic countries to address various important issues of Islamic countries, especially the Palestinian cause," he said.
    The meeting will last for five days and will be held today and Sunday at the level of the affiliated committees, including the Standing Committee for Palestine, the consultative meeting between the secretaries-general of the Islamic parliaments and a consultative meeting of the Group of Arab States and the Committee on Political Affairs and Foreign Relations.
    Iran's parliament speaker Ali Larijani will chair the general assembly on the third day, and the meeting of Muslim women will be held on the same day, while a statement will be concluded on Wednesday. Ending / 25
