The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Mahdi Al-Alak, that the humanitarian assistance provided by Kuwait, exceeded what the Arab countries combined.
"I can say that the humanitarian grants we have received from the sisterly State of Kuwait are the largest compared to the grants of the Arab countries combined, which gives us great gratitude," Al-Alak said in an interview with Sky News.
"Building campaigns (Kuwaitis schools) funded by Kuwait have helped to ensure that students are enrolled in the liberated areas of the so-called Daqash as well as the schools built inside the displacement camps," he said.
The Secretary-General of the Iraqi Council of Ministers expressed his country's aspiration to "open more schools in the next stage, which we believe to be one of the important aspects in support of stability in the liberated areas."
He also noted "the recent financial grant to support the health sector in the liberated governorates, which will contribute to the reconstruction of health centers and hospitals there."
He pointed out that all this "shows that Iraq and Kuwait were able to turn the page of the past and past the era of the former dictatorial regime, which affected the Iraqi people before all the peoples of the region and neighboring countries."
The State of Kuwait was "allocated 200 million US dollars in 2015 to support humanitarian efforts in Iraq, as well as 100 million dollars allocated recently to support the health sector in the affected provinces."
