BEIJING (Reuters) - Beijing successfully carried out another test of an anti-missile interceptor system and described the move as defensive and not directed at any country, the Defense Ministry said Tuesday.
China is intensifying research into all types of missiles, from the space-destroying satellites to advanced ballistic missiles equipped with nuclear warheads, under an ambitious modernization project led by President Xi Jinping.
The Defense Ministry said in a brief statement that "anti-missile missile defense interceptor technology" was tested, Monday, within the borders of China.
"The test has reached its expected targets," the ministry said. "This test is defensive and not directed at any country." The ministry did not provide any details. Dr
