    Shafak News / Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said during a telephone call from US Vice President Mike Bens, he is working on a plan he said long-term with the Kurdistan Regional Government to resolve all the problems. 
    Baghdad imposed a ban on international flights to the airports of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah in September last, as part of the "punitive" against Kurdistan against the backdrop of the referendum on independence from Iraq. 
    Arbil has been engaged in difficult negotiations with Baghdad over the past months in an attempt to restore international flights to the two airports before it ends with a decision by Prime Minister Haider al-Abbadi to resume flights since Thursday

    "The Iraqi government is working to strengthen the rest of the state institutions and the aim is to reach a stable political situation to prevent foreign intervention that seeks to weaken the sovereignty of the state," he said. 
    He also stressed "the plan put in place to reduce the number of American advisers and trainers in Iraq after an overwhelming victory over the terrorist advocate, and that the presence of these trainers is limited to supporting Iraqi military and security institutions with international expertise in training and technical support."
    Abadi stressed that "the importance of strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries, as Iraq hopes the US administration to encourage the private sector to invest in Iraq." 
    The White House said in a statement Thursday evening that he praised during the telephone call to reopen the airports of the Kurdistan region and send part of the salaries of staff of the region by the federal government. 
    The two sides also discussed the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections, noting that they should be conducted freely and free from any fraud 
    . The two sides also talked about the relations between the two countries and the protection of Christians and other religious components in Iraq and the Middle East, and that the commitment of the Iraqi prime minister is important for America.
    As he spoke about the elections in Iraq next May, reports on Iran's interference in the government and the establishment of a free and fair election in which those Iraqis who have been displaced by the fighting are "hasty."
