The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs intends to launch a long-term plan to support and empower people with disabilities and integrate them into the labor market.
The ministry’s spokesman, Najm Al-Aqabi, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah” followed by “Al-Eqtisad News”, that the plan was developed for the next five years in coordination with UNICEF, to support and empower families in society by involving them in training courses and creating job opportunities for them in cooperation with the public and private sectors.
He pointed out that there are serious steps to activate the employment file for people with disabilities through the "Tamkeen" platform to develop their capabilities according to the needs of the labor market, in addition to activating the work of workshops and productive associations for those of them who are able to work part-time, which contributes to enhancing their self-confidence and integrating them into society.
