Prince Saud al-Qahtani, advisor to the Royal Court of Saudi Arabia, commented on Riyadh's intention to build a sea canal along the land border between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, thus converting the latter from a peninsula to an island, using Egyptian expertise in the field of drilling.

Al-Qahtani is the first Saudi official response to the channel's project, following the information published by the Saudi newspaper "Sabd" two days ago about the Kingdom's intention to finance the Salwa Canal project with the help of the UAE.
