The Electoral Commission announced on Thursday the end of the period of receipt of appeals in the legislative elections by the end of the official working day next Thursday, confirming its keenness to "preserve" the votes of voters. 

"In order to complete its procedures, which relate to the results of the polling day and according to these legal procedures, the Commission has begun to receive the appeals of the electoral lists participating in the polling day as well as the candidates a few days ago. The official on Thursday, 31/5/2018 ".




The statement added that "the Commission has begun to publish lists of candidates for winners and non-winners and the number of seats for the winning electoral lists in the House of Representatives in the local newspapers (the new morning, the new evidence and Al-Zora newspaper) and the affected parties, whether lists or candidates to submit their objections before the Commission Electoral Judiciary in the Federal Court of Cassation ". 

He pointed out that "the Electoral Commission began days ago to hand over copies of papers to the authorized electoral lists to participate in the electoral process through its offices in Baghdad and the provinces, and those wishing to obtain those images brought down (storage devices) by the authorized to obtain copies of the ballot papers after Review UNHCR offices in governorates and even on public holidays ".

"The Board of Commissioners seriously considers all the appeals made by parties and candidates and works professionally and impartially and stands at a distance from everyone. The Council is keen to preserve the votes of voters, and bears on its shoulders this great responsibility placed on it as representing the institution that manages and regulates operations And considers that the path of genuine democracy and its basic foundations is an important and vital part of the responsibilities set by the Iraqi constitution. "

The Electoral Commission confirmed on Monday (21 May 2018) the existence of 33 red complaints among the complaints submitted to it on the legislative elections for the year 2018, while pointing to the cancellation of 103 stations distributed to the provinces of Anbar, Nineveh, Salahuddin, Baghdad and Erbil.
