Erdogan warns of a religious war because of Austria

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that "the steps taken by Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Curtis lead the world to a war between the Cross and Crescent."
"Austria's plans to close the mosques lead to a war between the cross and the crescent," Erdogan said in a speech during a breakfast program at the Istanbul Eurasia Exhibition and Arts Center. "The steps taken by the Austrian Chancellor are leading the world in this direction," he said.
"Therefore, the West must put an end to the behavior of its men, and if this does not happen, these calculations will go in another direction," he said.
On the cancellation of Austrian residency permits for the Austrian Turkish Federation of Islamic Culture and Social Solidarity, Erdogan said: "They want to expel our clerics from Austria, we will not stand idly by about it."
Earlier, the Austrian government announced the closure of seven mosques, and the deportation of a large number of imams, claiming "the adoption of radical ideas and the dissemination of national trends."
Vienna also revoked residence permits for the Imams of the Austrian Turkish Federation for Islamic Culture and Social Solidarity, which is linked to the head of Turkish religious affairs, on the pretext of "receiving funding from abroad".
