The President of the Republic Barham Salih received at the Peace Palace in Baghdad on Tuesday a delegation from the Supreme Judicial Council headed by Judge Faik Zaidan.
The delegation included the Vice President of the Court of Cassation, Chief of Public Prosecution, Chairman of the Judicial Supervisory Authority and Director General of the Judicial Guard Department.
During the meeting, they stressed the principle of separation of powers and provide full support for the independence of the judiciary and work to form a joint committee between the Presidency and the Supreme Judicial Council to review the laws in force and work on the preparation of laws and legislation required by the next stage.
