    Baghdad/ NINA /--After a long break that lasted more than a quarter of a
    century Iraqi Airways company, of transport Ministry is preparing to
    resume its flights Baghdad - London next month .

    A statement by
    the ministry said today : " It is scheduled that lraqi Airways will
    activate this vital flight line at the beginning of next month.

    He
    added that "this move came after the company renewed and updated its
    aircraft fleet and reimbursed Kuwaiti file debt to communicate with the
    world through opening and re-start of new air routes, in line with the
    current development in the air transport sector. / End

    On the 16th flights to Kuwait and beginning of next month to London! Getting better and better!

    beyond huge it takes away kuwait excuse to keep them under chapter7 they cant have there cake and eat it too .. this in fact breaches chapter7!

    Love your reaction duck to this better than my words. You know dry loves following the air flight routes as they open and is a biggy with her following the investment a huge step too..... ;)

    the official news agency quoted Fawaz Al-Farah as saying that "Iraqi
    Airways will resume flights to Kuwait on 16 of the month     following
    approval by the Civil Aviation Authority said, adding that" Iraqi
    Airways will operate four flights a week, one directly and two from
    Baghdad across Najaf and 4 across.

    excellent news, so if this flight takes place then the next time Iraq ask for
    out of chapter 7 Kuwait "WILL NOT" be able to say that Iraq can't be let out cause they
    didn't fulfill all their obligations.....

    ratified an agreement with Kuwait negotiated earlier in 2012 that provides a payment of $300 million to Kuwait and another $200 million to help establish a joint Iraqi-Kuwait airline
    (Under terms of the accord, the payments would resolve a claim of more than $1.2 billion in compensatory damages against Iraqi Airways for the loss of Kuwait Airlines commercial aircraft that occurred during Saddam Hussein’s 1990 invasion of Kuwait. Because the claim won international recognition, it severely hampered efforts by Iraq’s national airline to resume flights on key international routes out of concern its aircraft might be seized.)
    This quarter, the CoM and CoR both approved a $500 million agreement struck in principle earlier this year with Kuwait to resolve $1.2 billion in outstanding claims against Iraqi Airways for the seizure of Kuwaiti aircraft following Saddam Hussein’s 1990 invasion of the emirate. International acceptance of the claim’s legitimacy had restricted efforts by Iraqi Airways to resume a service to key destinations, including London. Under the agreement, $300 million will be paid directly to Kuwait,while $200 million will be used to launch a new jointly owned Iraqi-Kuwaiti airline.     Now that this "Lawsuit" has been settled, flights will begin under the new merger between Iraqi airlines and Kuwaiti airlines, aka Iraqi/Kuwaiti airlines.:D
