Iraq's oil exports from the northern Kirkuk fields to the Turkish port of Ceyhan will remain between 80,000 and 90,000 bpd, with most of the crude produced to feed refineries in the north, Iraqi Oil Minister Thamer Ghadhban said on Wednesday.

At the same press conference, Farid al-Jadir, director of the North Oil Company, said the current production from the Kirkuk fields is about 370,000 barrels per day.

He added that a technical team of BP is now operating in Kirkuk and will prepare a study to review plans to increase production by the end of 2019.

"The company said. B is currently working in the North Oil Company to develop technical studies to re-evaluate the entire production and how to increase the fields of Kirkuk. "

"They are on the ground. We expect the end of next year to finalize final studies before it is agreed with the company. "

Iraq is in the final stages of talks with Exxon and CNPC on a major energy project in the south and is expected to sign agreements soon, Ghadhban said.

He expressed optimism about a tentative agreement in the near future but said he could not predict a specific date for that.

The agreement with Exxon and CNPC would help Iraq increase the load capacity of crude from oil export terminals to 6.5 million bpd, the minister said.
