    Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Hussain al-Shahristani, a representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq Nikolay Mladenov that the talks between the federal government and the Kurdistan region on the export of oil cut "way whatsoever."

    Shahristani said in a statement issued after a meeting with Mladenov said that the meeting included "Search preparations for the Electoral Commission to hold parliamentary elections on schedule and Alambahathat ongoing between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government on the export of oil from the region."

    The transfer of al-Shahristani, the UN official "confirmation of the Iraqi government to hold elections on schedule and that the participation of the Office of the UN observers, as well as international observers."

    He stressed that "the talks with the province has gone no matter what, and that the export of oil from any part of Iraq has to be through the Oil Marketing Company (SOMO)."
