The head of the House of Representatives Mohammad Halboussi wrapped up a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran accompanied by a parliamentary delegation that lasted several hours and returned to Iraq at the invitation of the Speaker of the Shura Council Ali Larijani.
During the visit, Halabousi met with his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani, Islamic Republic of Iran President Hassan Rowhani, Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Shamkhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif.
The Iraqi delegation headed by Halaboussi in Tehran discussed "bilateral relations between the two countries, activating the parliamentary friendship committees, coordinating efforts in combating terrorism and limiting extremism, and coordinating positions in international forums on the challenges facing the region."
The delegation also stressed that "victory is achieved with the blood of the Iraqis and the support of friendly countries, and the victory must be maintained; by achieving stability through support in the areas of security and reconstruction."
He also discussed "strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, including economic, and stressing the need for cooperation between Iraq and Iran with the countries of the region; to restore stability in the region."
The Iraqi delegation stressed to the Iranian side that "the presence of the international coalition came with the approval of the Iraqi state.
He pointed out that "the presence of the International Coalition to support Iraq in the elimination of the organization calling for the terrorist, it will not pose any threat or threat to the neighborhood of Iraq, including Iran, and will not allow the use of Iraqi territory to harm the neighborhood."
He also stressed "the position of Iraq, which rejects economic sanctions targeting peoples," praising "Iran's stand on the side of Iraq in its war against terrorism, and support for his unit."
