The head of Iran's Food and Drug Organization Mehdi Berasli said Thursday that his country annually exports 25 million dollars of medicine and medical equipment to Iraq.
Speaking at a joint meeting with Iran's Health Minister and Iraqi Trade Minister, Berlusconi told IRNA that "the Islamic Republic can export 200 million dollars of medicine and equipment to Iraq."
He added that "despite the agreements concluded between the ministries of health in the two countries, but unfortunately, the mechanism of registration of Iranian medicines in Iraq is slow," and wished to be speeded up registration with the health authorities in Iraq .
Iraq is ready to develop relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields as well as in the health and therapeutic fields, Iraqi Trade Minister Mohammad Hashim Abdul Majid al-Ani said .
He added that "Iran's support for Iraq in the face of the call and other terrorist groups is a clear statement to all," stressing that "Iraq stands with Iran in the face of the embargo imposed on it . "
"Iran is advanced in this field," he said, adding that "the two countries have many cooperation in this field," and expressed his hope for its development.
