The legal expert Tariq Harb on Sunday revealed the impossibility of Iraqi mediation to resolve the escalating crisis between America and Iran in recent times.
"Iraq can not be a mediator between Iran and America because Iran sees some of Iraq as part of it and part of its enemy, both of which are not accepted by Iran as a mediator because it is either a friend or an enemy," Harb said in a leaflet on his Facebook page.
"The same is true of America because it sees some of Iraq as part of it and in others it is an enemy because it is a friend and an enemy of America, as is the case with Iran."
"Therefore, Iraq must distance itself from its subordination to the two countries and its friendship to the two countries, and whoever was a friend and a proponent at the same time, not a fair mediator, stop it, those who hesitate to mediate between Iran and America."
