The governor of the Central Bank of Iran Abdul Nasser Hamati, said that the bank seeks to ease the living pressure for low-income classes, and control of foreign exchange rates in Iran .
"With the rise in the price of hard currency, the main pressure on the poor and middle classes has left a positive impact on the rich," IRNA quoted him as saying.
"This is a concern for the Iranian government, so we are always trying to ease the pressure on the poor and the middle classes so that things do not deteriorate," Hamati said.
He explained that the central bank "will not benefit from the rise in the price of foreign currency to provide commodities at the price of subsidized hard currency (4200 Toman to the dollar)," noting that "when the price of foreign currency rises prices of housing units and cars, so the government does not do this "
