, MP in the parliament, Salam al-Shammari, spoke on Saturday of losing parties that caused yesterday's events in the demonstration square. This was clearly evidenced by its fear of the peaceful movement and its consequences.
Al-Shammari said, in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of, that "what happened yesterday from the attacks on peaceful demonstrators in central Baghdad requires a speedy explanation from the government and its security apparatus."
He added, "The entry of cars carrying armed persons to the protesting square without preventing or searching is something that cannot be tolerated, and the concerned authorities must clarify this quickly."
And, "The attacks by these gunmen on unarmed peaceful demonstrators are dangerous and clearly reveal the existence of losing parties if the peaceful movement continues to achieve positive results."
Al-Shammari explained that "most of the people with different orientations with the peaceful mass movement to achieve the legitimate demands, which apparently pulled the rug from the parties driven internally and externally, began to carry out illegal negative actions."
Saaroun, the deputy, stressed the necessity for the government and its security services, in all its forms, to bear the responsibility of what happened and must reassure the people of their ability to establish security and stability.
