The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, said on Monday that he is a watchdog of the revolutionaries and a father for them, indicating that he will announce his hostility to them if the Al-Wathba incident recurs.
Al-Sadr said, in a televised interview: "I consider myself a watchdog of the revolutionaries and a father for them and all the problematic matters will be resolved with the demonstrators."
He declared: "I pledge to reveal the killers of the demonstrators in the Sadr Square, whether or not the revolution succeeded."
"I did not agree with him, but I kept quiet about him, and the president of the republic is the one who commissioned him," Sadr added.
He expressed his wish: "It is from the Kurds and Sunnis to cooperate to form a government far from quotas," noting that "politicians (convoys) are over quotas."
He noted that: "No government has been formed in Iraq since 2003 without interference." He believed that "early elections is a duty of the Prime Minister."
He added that Iran was surprised to appoint Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi as prime minister.
