BAGHDAD / NINA / Head of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafari reviewed on Friday with the U.S. Undersecretary of State Bright Mkourk, and Ambassador Stephen Beecroft the preparations necessary to convene the first session of the parliament.
A statement by the Office of the head of the National Alliance, said that "the two sides reviewed during the meeting, the necessary preparations to attend the first session of parliament; and the obligation in timings stipulated in the Constitution.
Jaafari stressed the need for understanding between the political blocs to elect the three presidential positions, and the formation of the new government.
He pointed to the need for providing logistical support to Iraqi forces, to help them combat the terrorist organizations that penetrated the sovereignty of Iraq, and has threatened the security of Iraq, and the entire region.
For his part, Bright Mkourk expressed his country's support for Iraq, and stand next to him in the fight against terrorist organizations that threaten the security of the entire world.
