She added: "This arsenal includes modern American and Russian weapons and equipment, including armor, tanks, personnel carriers, combat vehicles and light and medium weapons, which finally ended sporadically in the hands of the Syrian regime forces, and a number of them were monitored during the February attack of these forces on the countryside of Idlib province. Baghdad is also trying Pressure to restore weapons seized by the SDF "SDF"
The sources pointed out, "Bashar Al-Assad's regime's delay in handing over weapons and equipment, ignoring the necessity of dealing with it in accordance with international law, that is, the treatment of looted or smuggled property that requires the party to which it ended to hand it over to the original owner."
And indicated, "SDF refused from the beginning to hand over what is in its possession," explaining that "the value of those weapons and equipment is great, but more importantly, the American side considers Iraq responsible for recovering them from the Assad regime specifically."
The sources added, "The Syrian regime uses several methods to delay this file, and that Iraq’s claim of military equipment is primarily due to the fact that the Americans continue to move the file, as they are American weapons in the possession of the Syrian regime."
According to the sources: "The value of the Iraqi military arsenal that ISIS seized during its invasion of the cities of northern and western Iraq, the majority of which are American and Russian, is estimated at about one billion dollars, knowing that the former Iraqi Defense Minister (2014-2016) Khaled al-Obeidi, spoke in January 2016 On the military’s loss of 27 billion dollars in security equipment and weapons that ISIS had seized.
