    (Baghdad: Al Furat News) Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Trade announced its serious efforts to submit proposals to develop the ration card system, pointing out that it is going to provide citizens with a full meal of food during the month of Ramadan, in light of the directives of the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi.
    "The Ministry of Trade announced that the directives of the Prime Minister today, will be a new start for the work of the ration card and increase its financial allocations," said a statement by the ministry, which {Al Furat News} received.
    The statement added, "Al-Kazemi's speech in the Council of Ministers will guide the work of the Ministry of Trade during the coming period in line with and secure food requirements for poor families included in the ration card system."
    And, "Minister of Commerce Alaa Al-Jubouri confirmed that the directives of the Prime Minister will be a new start for the work of the ration card and meet the requirements of the poor, especially in light of the need for foodstuffs in light of the Corona pandemic and the health ban imposed by the Supreme Committee for Health and Safety."
    And the statement continued, "preparations are underway at the Ministry of Trade to distribute a complete meal to all those covered by the ration card system. The basic vocabulary includes sugar, rice and flour, while the ministry will distribute a quantity of zero flour to all Iraqi families during the blessed month of Ramadan."
    He pointed out, "The ministry will, next week, prepare a clear study to the Prime Minister’s office that includes its vision to develop the ration card system and the need for exceptions that correspond to the need of the people in accordance with the directives of the Prime Minister, to bypass the ration card project, which was exposed to major problems during the past year as a result of the failure to approve the public budget. The state, as well as the lack of sufficient allocations to allow the ministry to implement its programs in securing the vocabulary in a smooth and continuous manner.
    He stressed, "The ministry has submitted more than one project to develop the ration card system and several proposals aiming at stabilizing the supply of the ration card system, whether through credit purchase or directing the ration card items to the needy from the poor and families, social care and short-term contracts, which is what the ministry will propose to the prime minister. For the purpose of obtaining approval and thus stabilizing the processing of the ration card system. "
    The statement stressed, "The prime minister's direct support for the work of the ministry and the ration card and support for poor families will be a serious starting point that allows the ministry to implement the duties assigned to it in light of the Ministry of Finance providing the necessary financial allocations for the ration card on an ongoing basis."
