The embassy said in a statement, "Nas" received a copy, (March 19, 2021), "Millions of Americans celebrate the Persian New Year, Nowruz, on March 20."
The statement added, "Nowruz marks the beginning of the spring season, which coincides with the vernal equinox (when the sun moves across the equator on the earth, dividing the hours of day and night equally). Celebration of this day began in ancient Persia, but it is also celebrated in various gatherings. In Central Asia, Western Asia, South Asia, the Caucasus, the Balkans, and the Black Sea Basin for more than 3 thousand years. "
The embassy pointed out that, "It is customary, in the United States, for museums and cultural centers to host the celebrations and events that take place on the occasion of Nowruz. As for this year, due to the pandemic, these events will take place via the Internet."
"The museum’s website also hosts storytelling to shed light on Persian history and culture. On the Internet visitors will learn about preparing the famous traditional Nowruz table known as Haft Sen (the Seven Years), which includes seven symbolic ceremonial types of food that all begin with a letter," the embassy added. The Seine in Persian is to preach happiness, prosperity and prosperity for a new year.
