The Legal Committee in the House of Representatives indicated, on Wednesday, that there are major loopholes in the election law.
A member of the committee, Bahar Mahmoud, said, "The election law contains many loopholes, the first of which is that the election system is consistent with the provincial council elections and not the House of Representatives, and although this law allows independents to run for parliament, it did not guarantee them victory."
She added, "As for the other loophole, it is that voting is not limited to the biometric card, and that" the commission is trying at the present time to impose it, but the law does not require the use of the biometric card exclusively, and this is considered a loophole that allows forgery.
