    Security sources in Anbar province told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that an explosive device exploded on a convoy of the International Coalition when it was passing on the international highway in the city of Saqlawiya in the province, stressing that the explosion did not cause any casualties. 

    This bombing is the fourth targeting columns of the International Coalition in Saqlawiya in less than a
    week. Last Tuesday, 3 IEDs exploded in columns of the Coalition in the city, without causing any casualties. 
    Although investigations have been opened into the repeated bombings targeting the international coalition convoys, the Iraqi authorities do not announce the parties behind the bombings. 
    However, armed militias calling themselves various names, such as "Qassem al-Jabarin" and "Awliya al-Dam Brigades", repeatedly adopt operations targeting coalition columns and locations where American forces are present, and confirm that these operations represent revenge for the killing of the commander of the "Quds Force" in the Revolutionary Guards. The Iranian Qassem Soleimani, and the deputy head of the "Popular Mobilization Forces" Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, who were killed in an American air strike near Baghdad International Airport in early 2020, as well as in response to the American raids that kill from time to time among the armed factions. 
    An American air strike targeting Iraqi armed factions' sites at the end of last month, on the Iraqi-Syrian border, killed a number of Iran-backed "Sayyid Al-Shuhada' Brigades" militia members, after which the factions escalated their attacks against Iraqi sites where American forces are present.

    In a new situation, the spokesman for the "Sayyid Al-Shuhada Brigades" militia, Kazem Al-Fartousi, spoke about the existence of mediations by various parties, aimed at stopping the escalation of armed factions against the American forces in Iraq, explaining in a press statement that "the resistance factions strongly rejected any mediation regarding the matter." Stop military operations against US forces. 
    Al-Fartousi pointed out that "the military escalation against the American forces came in order to completely remove the American combat forces from all Iraqi lands. Otherwise, there will be no calm and the escalation will not be stopped, no matter what the pressures are on the factions." 
    The existence of mediation between the Americans and the armed factions was not announced by any official source, and a government official, contacted by Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, satisfied that the government is very keen on the security of foreign forces and missions operating in the country, explaining that the authorities are in the process of taking all necessary measures.
