    {Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Health plans to import 18 million additional doses of vaccines against the Corona virus.
    He said director of public health at the ministry Riad Hilfi in a press statement, said that "Iraq carried out contracts and agreements to import 33 million doses a variety of sources and reputable companies for the production of vaccines, is currently underway to expand the preparation of doses to add 18 million doses extra, bringing the number of vaccines to 48 million doses, Except for what was received as grants or gifts from some countries."
    Al-Ali explained that "most of the payments that were contracted within the ministry's agreements are expected to arrive at the end of this year," expressing his "hope that the received quantities of vaccines, which will be received within the coming weeks, will contribute to the achievement of the World Health Organization." It requires vaccinating 60% of the target groups from the age of 18 onwards.
    Three types of vaccines are being used in Iraq, namely Pfizer, Sinopharma and AstraZeneca, among more than 750 vaccination outlets spread throughout the governorates.
    Al-Halfi pointed out that "the ministry received a new shipment of Pfizer, amounting to more than 503 thousand doses provided by the US government, and a new dose was received yesterday, Sunday, with 400,000 doses, bringing the total that was prepared to more than 900 thousand health institutions."
    He stressed that "all vaccines are approved and approved by the World Health Organization, from solid sources, and are available in all vaccination outlets, which witness a great demand by citizens."
    In a related context, Al-Halfi noted "the opening of the most important genetic sequencing laboratory in the Central Public Health Laboratory in Baghdad, the purpose of which is to identify the strains of people infected with the Corona virus using genetic sequencing technology for the first time in the country."
    He said the "laboratory will contribute during the next term identifying the genetic maps of viruses and bacteria, as well as identifying genetic diseases, cancers of all kinds," he said. "Head with the latest global laboratory services and all the number and requirements for safety and security, biological, and operates cadres trained within international standards."
