{Economic: Al Furat News} The Ministerial Council for Energy held its regular session, headed by Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar.
And a statement of the Ministry of Oil, which the agency {Euphrates News} received a copy of, stated that “the council has discussed the topics on its agenda.
The Council directed "the concerned authorities in the Ministry of Oil to work on adopting the appropriate mechanisms and steps, which leads to the implementation of plans to accelerate the implementation and completion of the requirements for the completion of the Karbala oil refinery with a refining capacity of 140,000 barrels per day, and to recommend studying the final steps for the development and expansion of the Diwaniyah refinery."
He pointed out that "in the electric power generation sector, the council decided to extend the powers to break the bottlenecks in the production and transmission systems of electric power."
