Yesterday, Wednesday, the Kurdistan Democratic Party revealed the start of talks with the political blocs in Baghdad to discuss the formation of the new government, while political sources revealed an agreement of 3 blocs to renew confidence in Mustafa Al-Kazemi.
The leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Shwan Taha, said in an interview with Al-Mada that "the Kurdish delegations entered the stage of understandings with the political blocs in Baghdad to discuss forming the new government."
Taha added, "The discussions between the parties during the last few years dealt with discussing the positions of the three presidencies."
He pointed out that "the current stage is critical and all the blocs are working to calm the situation, whether on the street or at the political level, and therefore they cannot now enter into final negotiations in order to form a government."
Taha concluded his speech by saying that "the Kurdish parties in the Kurdistan region, along with any person who occupies the position of prime minister, meets the aspirations and demands of the Kurdish people and government."
In addition, political sources said in an interview with (Al-Mada), that "there is a consensus between the Sadrist movement and progress and the Kurds regarding granting the current Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi a second term."
The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, added that "the United States of America and Iran support Al-Kazemi's assumption of the second term."
The sources indicated, "Tehran believes that Al-Kazemi's performance was good, especially in the file of his contribution to bringing views between it and Saudi Arabia."
And she continued, "The political blocs fear the formation of a majority government called for by the Sadrist bloc, as well as they believe that the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, cannot form a government that agrees with his leadership."
