Begging in Baghdad.. 40 foreigners arrested for violating residency conditions

{Umniah: Al Furat News} The Directorate of Residence Affairs / Baghdad announced, on Tuesday, the arrest of 40 foreign beggars for violating the conditions of residence, through campaigns that toured religious and recreational places.
The directorate said in a statement, "The phenomenon of foreign beggars of Asian nationality has recently spread in Baghdad near intersections, public squares, and in religious and recreational places, who bear physical impairments and deformities, to circulate with the sympathy of passers-by."
She added, "The Directorate of Residence Affairs in Baghdad, in the Al-Bayaa area, embarked on a wide campaign and with exceptional efforts, in partnership with the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, the Intelligence of the Expatriates, and the force holding the land. Iraq for violating the terms of the Iraqi Aliens Residence Law No. 76 of 2017.
The directorate noted that "its efforts are continuing to prosecute foreigners who violate the law, while calling on citizens not to harbor foreigners who violate the law and to immediately report their whereabouts to serve the public interest."
