Due to the large number of communications .. Iraq adopts an e-mail to nominate for the position of president
Shafaq News/ The Iraqi parliament announced, on Wednesday, the allocation of an email for those who wish to apply for the position of "President of the Republic", attributing the reason for making the decision to the large number of communications from citizens to nominate for the position.
Parliament said in a statement received by Shafak News Agency, "Due to receiving many complaints from citizens as a result of their inability to communicate with the legal department in the House of Representatives due to continuous communications at the same time, which leads to busy lines and overlapping communications with other lines that are not approved in the official announcement." It was not possible to quickly allocate a line with a capacity of multiple pilot numbers and for the limited period of time, so it was decided to adopt the e-mail of the Legal Department to communicate with the ladies and gentlemen wishing to run for the post of President of the Republic of Iraq.
The statement explained, that this came "in accordance with the provisions of Article (2/first) of the Law No. (8) of 2012 on the provisions of candidacy for the position of President of the Republic."
The statement noted that receiving electronic messages will be available until three o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, January 13, 2022, noting that "the email of the legal department is [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ."
The Iraqi Council of Representatives had announced two numbers assigned to those wishing to run for the presidency, but citizens complained that these numbers belong to them and caused them to "disturb."
After the Iraqi parliament opened its first parliamentary session, Sunday, January 9, 2022, and the deputies took the constitutional oath and chose the new parliament speaker, the parliament announced the opening of the door for candidacy for the presidency, so that the president of the republic and the next prime minister would be chosen after that.
