Kurdistan budget: Baghdad has not sent any budget to the region for 8 years
Shafaq News / The Director General of Budget in the Ministry of Finance of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Parween Muhammad, confirmed on Saturday that the federal government has not sent any budget to the region for 8 years.
Muhammad said, in press statements, that "the lack of financial plans by the previous formations of the regional government, put the current government in a suffocating crisis, and made people believe that the Kurdistan government had no financial plans.
She added, "Eight years ago, the federal government did not send any budget to the region, and what arrived was just financial advances, and for this reason no development operations took place in the region."
And Muhammad indicated, "In the middle of last year, the region's general budget bill was sent to the government, but due to the failure to resolve the problems between Baghdad and Erbil, and the failure to implement the budget law of the federal government, the regional government was unable to send the draft law to Parliament."
