    The Information/Baghdad...
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs revealed, on Monday, that thousands of workers from private sector projects were forcibly dismissed, while it announced the registration of thousands of complaints against the owners of those companies and security and investment projects.
The Undersecretary for Administrative and Legal Affairs, Alaa Al-Sakini, said in a statement that "the past two years have witnessed the forced layoffs of thousands of workers from private sector projects and investment and security companies in Baghdad and the provinces," noting that "the inspection committees recorded the largest part of the layoffs. The forced, and the second part was through the workers filing a complaint directly with the ministry to dismiss them without prior notice and not grant them their financial rights, or replace them with foreign workers.”
He added that "a large number of workers in the private sector are not guaranteed, which facilitated the layoff process by the owners of these projects and companies," explaining that "some of these projects replaced national workers with workers of foreign and Arab nationalities, especially in restaurants, hotels and investment projects."
Al-Sakini indicated that "the ministry seeks to include all workers in the Social Security Law in light of the demand for work in the private sector and the lack of opportunities in government appointments, and to encourage the unemployed to establish their own projects that can reduce the unemployment rate."
Al-Sakini pointed out that "the ministry obligates all investment companies to employ 50 percent of the national workforce, especially those with certificates and experience and craftsmen in various sectors, and those who have training certificates from the ministry." finished/25
