Reber Ahmed, the candidate of the "Save a Nation" coalition for the position of President of the Republic, said that this position needs to address many of the restrictions and problems that have dependent on the position for a long time.
Ahmed said in an article published by the London-based Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper, that since the President of the Republic is the protector of the constitution, the reform path requires that the position take its real role to protect the state and its institutions.
He pointed out that the post of the President of the Republic can only be viewed as an effective tool in integrating Iraqi roles, but it needs strength to address many of the problems that have long been dependent on the position.
