Ammar al-Hakim informs the King of Jordan of his support for the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline project
Shafaq News/ The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, informed, on Monday, Jordanian King Abdullah II of his support for the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline project, according to what the Jordan News Agency "Petra" reported.
She stated that "King Abdullah II received at Al Husseiniya Palace, today, Monday, the head of the National Wisdom Movement in Iraq, Ammar Al-Hakim, and assured him of the strength of the brotherly relations that unite the two brotherly countries and peoples, stressing the pivotal role of Iraq in enhancing the security and stability of the region."
During the meeting, which was attended by Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, the King's senior advisor for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy, the Jordanian king reiterated "Jordan's support for brotherly Iraq and its dear people."
For his part, Al-Hakim praised "the king's regional and international role, reviewing political developments in Iraq."
The head of the National Wisdom Movement in Iraq expressed his pride in the Jordanian-Iraqi relations, stressing his support for bilateral cooperation projects, especially the oil pipeline project from Basra to Aqaba and the industrial city project on the border between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by the Director of His Majesty's Office, Jaafar Hassan, and Director of General Intelligence, Major General Ahmed Hosni.
For his part, Al-Hakim said in a statement, "During our visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, we met King Abdullah II and discussed with him ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and the Kingdom at all levels, and we exchanged views on the developments in the situation in Iraq and the region."
Al-Hakim and the Jordanian king stressed, "the need to rely on dialogue as an optimal way to solve crises, and the importance of stability and peace prevailing in the countries of the region so that they devote themselves to serving their people."
Regarding the developments in the Iraqi political situation, Al-Hakim said, "The political crisis in the country is due to the unbalanced results produced by the recent elections," explaining that "this crisis, like previous crises, is possible to solve if there is a serious will for a solution and the supreme national interest prevails over factional and personal interests."
On the food security challenges facing the world and the region is part of them, Al-Hakim and the Jordanian King called for "joint cooperation between the countries of the region to overcome them, and the importance of investing in the potentials and mutual experiences between the countries of the region."
