    Kazem Fenjan Al-Hamami
Mutual piracy operations suddenly erupted between Iran and Greece a few days ago, when the Greek navy seized the Russian oil tanker (LANA) , which was carrying more than (100,000) tons of Iranian oil on its way to Russian ports, and the Greek forces seized it on Christos Island. At the request of the United States, it then unloaded its cargo of oil, and shipped the Iranian oil in another tanker and sent it to American ports . .
Iran dealt with the Greek piracy in the same way, so it sent its helicopters to land on the deck of the Greek tanker (Delta Poseidon) , which was coming from the Basra oil port and it was loaded with Iraqi oil, then the same planes headed to land on the deck of the Greek tanker (Prudent Warrior) , which was also Coming from the STS area, located near the Iraqi territorial waters, and loaded with Iraqi oil. It must be pointed out here that Iraq does not sell its oil on credit, and that the system in force by the Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) requires receiving the amounts resulting from the value of the shipment before loading, and as soon as the tanker leaves the loading dock, on its way to the sea, the tanker becomes in the custody of its owner The Greek, who is bound with the buyer by the terms of the bill of lading . .
We also mention that the Greek ships and tankers, which were present in the waters of the Arabian Gulf on that day, were about 17 ships, and all of them were subject to confiscation. This prompted the Greek navy to raise its level of readiness to seize more Iranian ships and tankers located in the Mediterranean basin. And Iran may resort to continuing to seize the Greek tankers departing from the region's ports, including the Iraqi ports . .
There is no doubt that this unacceptable behavior completely contradicts the norms, laws and international agreements, and is on its way to spread, and threatens to expand the circle of danger to include gulfs, seas and oceans. This calls for holding an emergency and expanded meeting of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in the presence of the World Maritime Organization (IMO) to reduce this chaos, and oblige international powers to provide the requirements for safe maritime navigation, and to ensure the safety of giant tankers frequenting oil ports . .
