A group of political blocs in the House of Representatives intend to change the current election law, and legislate a new electoral law to replace the “individual candidacy” that was applied in the last elections 2021.
Member of Parliament, Jassem Atwan Al-Moussawi, said in a statement reported by the official "Al-Sabah" newspaper, which was seen by Al-Maalouma, that "the Independent High Electoral Commission carried the reasons for the blockage in the political process."
Al-Moussawi added, “The commission made a big mistake in the recent elections, especially in the natural electoral entitlements for each bloc, as there are voters in one bloc whose number is twice as many as those in another bloc, yet we see that they have the same seats, which confirms that there are errors in the mechanism in this system.” .
He stressed that "everyone is determined not to go back and to the same mistakes, by legislating a law that is in the interest of everyone and cannot lead to a political blockage." finished/25
